Our Journey

WellNow Urgent Care's origins began in 2012 as Five Star Urgent Care, with one location in Big Flats, NY. Our founder, Dr. John Radford, sought to provide his community access to walk-in healthcare services with the same quality and commitment to patient care he experienced during his time as an ER doctor.

Today, WellNow has over 150 locations and is one of the fastest-growing providers of quality urgent care in the United States. We've continued this rapid growth through the opening of new facilities, strategic acquisitions, and through join venture partnerships with local health and hospital systems. We are proud to serve local communities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Regardless of how quickly WellNow grows, the company is committed to keeping its promise of offering exceptional healthcare in a convenient, caring atmosphere.

WellNow Urgent Care’s journey

2011

The first Five Star Urgent Care opened in Big Flats, NY.

2017

Five Star continued to expand with new locations, serving patients across New York State.

2018

We reintroduced our company as WellNow Urgent Care and acquired MASH Urgent Care’s seven locations in Western New York.

2019

WellNow entered into a joint venture with St. Peter’s Health Partners to provide urgent care services across the Albany area.

2021

With the acquisition of Hometown Urgent Care, we grew overnight to 85+ locations, expanding our footprint to Michigan.

2022

We expanded our footprint to Indiana and Pennsylvania.

2022

WellNow announces the strategic acquisition of Physicians Immediate Care, bringing our total number of locations to more than 150.
